  1. How do I apply for a Silverfit community place for the Vitality Big Half 2021?
  2. To apply for a Silverfit place please complete the online form here. If you don’t receive a confirmation email within 24 hours, let us know at [email protected]

 

  1. How do I pay for my Silverfit Big Half place? 
  2. Once you have completed and submitted your application form, we will email you a JustGiving page link to access our page and pay your £20 registration fee via the blue ‘Give now’ button. If you have difficulty making payment, please email us at [email protected]

 

  1. How do I send my fundraising money to Silverfit after completing the event? 
  2. The easiest way is to create your own JustGiving page. It is easy and this video walks you through the steps! Once you have set up your own page following the steps in the video, it will be linked to our Silverfit Big Half 2021 page here and your friends and family can make their own donations via your page. Alternatively you can pay the total fundraising amount raised as a single donation directly to our JustGiving page.

 

  1. On race day will there be a pre and post meeting place for the Silverfit Big Half participants?
  2. If it is safe to do so in line with Covid-secure guidance and the race organiser allows, we hope to have Silverfit race day meet-up and cheer points.  We will be in touch with participants to confirm details nearer to event day.

 

  1. Can I walk or Nordic walk the Big Half event?
  2. Yes! We expect to have Nordic and regular walkers, as well as walk/run and slower runner Silverfit participants. If you are planning to walk or Nordic walk, let us know so that we can support you with appropriate training guidance.

 

  1. Will Silverfit provide race training and preparation advice or events? 
  2. Details of any training events, tips and advice will be posted in our Facebook Group and emailed out to all participants at regular intervals in the lead up to race day.

 

  1. How do I get a Silverfit t-shirt / vest?
  2. Your Silverfit t-shirt is included in the cost of your £20 registration fee and a technical running vest can be ordered with an additional £5 surcharge. You will be asked to indicate your choice and size of garment when completing the application form and this will be posted out to you a few weeks before race day, to the address you have given us.

 

  1. What if I don’t want a Silverfit t-shirt or vest?
  2. There is an option on the application form, to indicate that you do not wish to receive a shirt.

 

  1. How do I set-up a JustGiving fundraising page?
  2. Watch this video and you will have a JustGiving page in no time – make sure you always start off on our JustGiving page first so yours is linked to ours and click the orange ‘Start Fundraising’ button.

 

  1. Is there a cut-off time for the race? What happens if I finish the race after the cut-off time?
  2. There is a four-hour cut-off time. After this time participants will be encouraged to complete the race on the pavement with support from the event organisers.   In past years Silverfit has proudly ‘brought up the rear’ for the Big Half so there will be other participants and plenty of encouragement from us, right until you cross the finish line!

 

  1. If I’m unable to participate in the race can my place be transferred to another person or be deferred until 2022?
  2. Places may be transferred from one person to another up until 25th July, so please contact us as early as possible to let us know if you wish to give your place to another person. If you wish to cancel your place before the closing date and have not found someone to transfer it to, we will do our best to re-allocate this to another person but cannot guarantee that this will be possible. It is not possible to defer your Silverfit Big Half race entry until 2022 as our Community places are not individually deferrable.
